Off the top of my head, Alberic's Curse is a remake of fan mission "Cathedral of the Damned" which was in turn inspired by "The Haunted Cathedral" in Thief 1. Edited October 16, by nbohr1more. Loathed it; despised it. Call it what you will. It felt silly. This was one of the entry points. The objective is to find out what happened to the Lord who resided here, as a favour for one of his fellow noblemen. But I felt guilty about not having explored the rest of the perimeter, so I eventually went back and took a tour, doing a lap around this rather huge map.

On the outside, the city looked good. Apart from a rather cheaply designed and lewd Inn sign, a bit of effort was put in, and I could feel the atmosphere, surprisingly. Feeling more satisfied, I continued on in to the manor itself.

This is where I started to gradually develop disdain for this FM. Overly large areas; needlessly wasted space; empty rooms without reward; plain textures; too much emphasis on lockpicking. Only a few minutes in, I went to the main menu, and uninstalled the mission, opting to play another instead. But after having completed most of the other missions, a few weeks later, I came back.

I always end up coming back and giving it another try, like a failed relationship. There were some unique additions like the waterwheel, however. But there was a reason behind this incomplete feel given by the author, stumpy. It could have used more polish, some proofreading, and a lot of beta testing, to say the least. But once I started to focus on the story and the objectives and not on the flaws with the design, I started to get into it.

Out of all the rooms in the manor, this had the most appeal. This is where you start along the trail which will lead you from clue to clue so you can progress through the mission. Entering the sewers below the streets yielded some surprises, and upon getting back inside the manor, I started to understand why there was the need for such seemingly unnecessarily large areas.

Plenty of secret rooms, hidden staircases, and vaults awaited. More than halfway through the mission, things were getting good, finally. And in the end, the story tied up quite nicely, with maybe one or two loose ends, inaccessible areas, and the promise of more to come.

Nothing better than a few unanswered questions when all is said and done. But it fell flat. You collect your thieving gear and get ready to exit via the window when you hear and feel a tremendous rumble coming from the earth. But instead of opting for the usual tower-based mission, Baddcogg went for an underground mission instead — a different way of looking at things, and it still counts, technically. Trending topics. It says in the guide you only need "iZ3D Monitor"-output and that's a free feature, not trial. Anyway, the amount of work needed to restore 3D Vision functionality is just ridiculous, even if it would work. Kingping1 said: 1. Fantastic, comfirmed working with the Steam version of System Shock 2.

After watching several let's plays to get a sense of the game mechanics, the game is on rails without a doubt and the developer is constantly showing what they want to show you.

I won't past judgement yet, but I somehow feel they should of called it something other than Thief and start a new franchise. The design choices are once again another console game and seem unrelated to the originals I am very concerned that the iZ3D driver does not support windows 8.

Personally, I will be using windows 7 for as long as possible. Well I did see a headline the other day where the dev said they didn't want you spending nine hours crouching. So I think you can pretty much expect what your impressions are telling you. It's not going to be a classical Thief game.

That free deal for Thief 1 was made for people to create videos of gameplay as a contest. If someone can set up to play Thief in 3D, and then make a 3D video of the gameplay, that would be an epic entry to their contest. Wouldn't win no doubt, but maybe it would open some eyes to this ancient game and how great it is in 3D, when it was never designed with that in mind.

Be fun to blow some minds. Anybody have video card that supports ShadowPlay with some motivation to make an entry? Really wish there were 'wrappers' to get the older games to work again in S3D DirectX8,7,etc? There are also a stack of mods you can run to bump up the quality. It's got that old school difficulty level too, and absolutely no noob-shine, which is refreshing.

Unfortunately, IZ3d doesn't work in windows At least I haven't been able to get this to work. If anybody has been able to make this work in windows 10 I'd love to hear how. I am still using windows 7 and will continue to use windows 7 for the next several years. But please let us know which OS can use the iZ3D driver and which can not. There are so many excellent Thief 2 fan missions to play. I do update my list of "only the best" Thief missions.

Why won't 3d work in 3dvision without IZ3d if the new versions of these games are DX9? Why are these games such a pain in the ass to get working in 3d?

Do I seriously need to revert back to windows 7 to play them in 3d? I use Tfix 1.
